The drug should not be withdrawn from the therapeutic regimen while there remains the possibility of infection except if a significant adverse reaction occurs.Silver sulfadiazine has broad antimicrobial activity. Treatment with Silver Sulfadiazine Cream should be continued until satisfactory healing has occurred or until the burn site is ready for grafting. However, if individual patient requirements make dressings necessary, they may be used. Administration may be accomplished in minimal time because dressings are not required. Whenever necessary, the cream should be reapplied to any areas from which it has been removed due to patient activity. The cream should be applied once to twice daily to a thickness of approximately 1/16 inch. The burn areas should be covered with Silver Sulfadiazine Cream at all times. The burn wounds are then cleansed and debrided and Silver Sulfadiazine Cream is applied under sterile conditions. Some of the reactions which have been associated with sulfonamides are as follows: blood dyscrasias, including agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, hemolytic anemia dermatologic and allergic reactions, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and exfoliative dermatitis gastrointestinal reactions hepatitis and hepatocellular necrosis CNS reactions and toxic nephrosis.įOR TOPICAL USE ONLY - NOT FOR OPHTHALMIC USE: Prompt institution of appropriate regimens for care of the burned patient is of prime importance and includes the control of shock and pain. Although few have been reported, it is possible that any adverse reaction associated with sulfonamides may occur. However, reduction in bacterial colonization has caused delayed separation, in some cases necessitating escharotomy in order to prevent contracture.Ībsorption of silver sulfadiazine varies depending upon the percent of body surface area and the extent of the tissue damage. Reduction in bacterial growth after application of topical antibacterial agents has been reported to permit spontaneous healing of deep partial-thickness burns by preventing conversion of the partial thickness to full thickness by sepsis. Other infrequently occurring events include skin necrosis, erythema multiforme, skin discoloration, burning sensation, rashes, and interstitial nephritis. A higher incidence has been seen in patients treated concurrently with cimetidine. The incidence of leucopenia in various reports averages about 20%. Recovery is not influenced by continuation of silver sulfadiazine therapy. Rebound to normal leukocyte levels follows onset within two to three days. Maximal white blood cell depression occurs within two to four days of initiation of therapy. Leucopenia associated with silver sulfadiazine administration is primarily characterized by decreased neutrophil count. Several cases of transient leucopenia have been reported in patients receiving silver sulfadiazine therapy. Silver sulfadiazine is not a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor and may be useful in situations where such agents are contraindicated. Layer Masks are applied on a single layer & it's a separate layer that's "linked" to the base layer. But basically, there are 2 different "masks" that can be made with different methods & while they can essentially have the same result, they both have their pros and cons to it. Hi there the terminology regarding clipping masks is a bit broad since they can be used different in different programs. This is what happens when we duplicate the layer, use transparency lock, & use the Screen blend mode (I copied the same highlight pattern from the previous drawing into this one) This is the desired result, by painting the lighting on a layer above the base color with the Screen blend mode. It's possible to duplicate the layer and use transparency lock with that one, and while this is the closest workaround for clipping layers, we still aren't able to take full advantage of the blend modes (see example below).Ĭlipping layers can allow these tasks to be more efficient and precise without sacrificing functionality, & it'd be a great addition to Sketchbook. But in cases such as shading, coloring over the base layer is something that tends to be avoided, not to mention that blend modes are unable to be used in the intended way (because the shading is done over the same layer). The other involves using transparency locking. The problem is that this can be a tedious process to do repeatedly & with the Wand, a low enough tolerance can lead to unwanted exclusions in the selection. One is to navigate to the base layer, use the Wand to select it all (or maybe just a portion), go back to the previous layer, & paint. There's currently a couple of workflows that I found out to work around this, but they both have drawbacks. I personally think this is a rather important tool for a lot of people, especially those who are familiar with other software like SAI or Photoshop, so it'd be great to have this. But the one thing that I'm kinda surprised it doesn't have are clipping layers. Once you're ready to draw, check these best Android drawing apps.So I recently decided to try out Sketchbook since it became free to use, & I actually really like a lot it has to offer, like the slick UI and its versatile tools and brushes. While it doesn't look as impressive as other styli, it is a great entry-level option. This uses a disc stylus nib for improved accuracy. If your budget is smaller, consider the MEKO Universal Stylus. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 has an S-Pen, a larger version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20's stylus.Ī good all-around option is the KEKOW Active Stylus Pen compatible with all Android phones and tablets. While most Android painting apps will let you use your fingers, a stylus is a smart option. Is it able to detect when your palm is resting on the display?.Does the phone or table have multiple touch point support?.Unsurprisingly, using a mouse is also completely different.īefore selecting a digital paint app for Android, you should check: Before You Start: Get Ready for Digital Painting and Drawing on Androidĭrawing on a tablet is not like working with a pen and paper, and varies considerably from using a paintbrush. Once you have done that, check out the best drawing apps for Android. So, what do you reckon so far? The main points I’m debating about in my head at this point are seed stitching, yellow filling, and the overall open space on the design. The nice thing is, if you want to stitch it, you’ll be able to make your own decisions on colors, threads, and stitch choice, so if anything on my version doesn’t ring true for you, you can always make adjustments.Īnd that’s one of the greatest things about embroidery, isn’t it? There’s a lot of personal choice involved, and there’s no rule that says you have to interpret a design in any specific way! Very freeing! Today I’m going to stitch on this a bit, to see if I can get it to a point where I can evaluate how much I like the whole thing when it’s worked in repeat.Īnd yes, I will eventually share the whole project with you – colors, stitches, all of it. On the other hand… well, the jury is still out on a lot of things! While there’s a slight bit of contrast in the blue outlines, it’s probably not a heavy enough contrast to really make the design pop. The values along the outline of the paisleys, especially the scallops and the chain stitch filling (the solid yellow) are very similar. This is the image in gray scale, so that you can see how much (or little) contrast there is between the colors and shades. I’ll probably adjust the drawing slightly to see if I like it better tightened up a bit. It’s too large, for one thing, and it sports a bit too much open space for my liking. I think the overall design isn’t tight enough. There’s just something about covering lines with repeated, ongoing stitches that meander along!Īnd I love the types of textures you can achieve with line stitches if you play with them a bit, adding extra colors, layers, and textures to them by whipping them, lacing them, or couching over them.īut the line stitches drew my attention to a design flaw. Stitching line stitches – like chain stitch, stem stitch, Palestrina stitch, Portuguese knotted stem stitch, backstitch (which I usually whip rather than leave plain) and the like – is a relaxing pursuit. The line stitch combinations I’m using are fun. I know this: I don’t dislike the piece enough to start over and I enjoy the anticipation of seeing it grow. I toyed with the idea of making a kind of cut-and-paste mock-up in Photoshop to see how the repeats work out together, but then I decided I’d rather spend that time stitching than mucking about on the computer. When a design is made up of repeats, it’s hard to get a good notion of the overall effect until you’ve worked all the repeats. One of my problems is that I know I need to see the whole design complete before I’m certain about the seed stitching for the background, or the yellow on the sides. So I used seed stitch to speckle the background with the yellow. With the paisley elements to the design, I had a notion that the background should be barely colored, since the wider design area around them is not colored. I really, really wanted a burst of yellow brightness to this piece, but the jury is still out! It’s not an acid yellow – it’s more of a warm, sunny yellow, with the slightest tinge of red to it rather than green (it’s DMC 743).īut that’s the funny thing about color – the interaction with surrounding colors affects it. The yellow is a bit bright in this piece, but I’m not quite catching it right in the photos. There are a couple things about it that I’d change, if I were re-drawing it (which I will). I’ve also pondered the design in general. While the color scheme hasn’t changed, I’ve tested the mild background filling that I had in mind. Today, you’ll see that I’m still plugging along with it. I love it when folks leave comments that we can all interact with – it’s such a jolly way to share ideas and inspire others! So thanks for joining in! Well, I’m Still playing with it! As usual, you all chimed in with some great suggestions, encouragement and advice on the last article. Remember this embroidered paisley kaleidoscope design I’m playing with? All these signs indicate that RSS is not leaving the content syndication landscape anytime soon. Its compatibility with various types of publications and platforms makes it highly accessible. Maximizing the discoverability and reach of online content are vital functions of RSS feeds.Ĭasual users and professionals use RSS feeds to avoid missing out on the latest online updates. For instance, podcast directories such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts support RSS feed integration for their content to enable regular listeners to receive timely updates. RSS feeds can even be classified as ‘essential’ for certain types of content. Web feeds powered by RSS remain helpful for reading, managing, and navigating online content. Not anytime soon! While there’s no denying that RSS feeds are not as popular as before, they are still a core part of digital communications for specific audiences today. Major blogs and websites offer RSS compatibility, while smartphone apps can serve as feed readers and help users access their favorite content on the go. RSS feeds update even when the user is not online, keeping the latest articles, news, podcasts, posts, and other content ready to consume. Some users prefer RSS as a simpler and more helpful alternative to participating on social media platforms. RSS lets users compartmentalize and categorize new content and access updates without worrying about losing track of important information. While social media platforms have taken over the role of RSS to a certain extent, its simplicity and flexibility are not easily replicated by other online content aggregation platforms. Websites rely on RSS feeds to give users personalized viewing and search experiences. RSS technology is primarily useful for those looking to stay up-to-date with new online content. Online feeds with curated updates from regularly visited websites are the key feature of RSS. Users can view the newest content from the sources of their choice using RSS readers, which are automatically updated when connected to the internet. However, at its core, an RSS feed is still known for stripping down content to boost loading times and increase accessibility. Information transfer is simplified, better organized, loads faster, and is more compatible with different RSS readers. For instance, modern RSS feeds can handle pictures, videos, and other non-text content, while the earlier versions could only handle text-based content. Today, its digital capabilities have advanced to make RSS files more complex. With the subsequent 2004 release came the RSS icon for the Mozilla Firefox internet browser, making RSS feeds more accessible to web surfers.Īll this may have happened long ago however, RSS has continued attempting to keep up with the constant digital revolution. The technology was renamed again in 2002 (this time, to ‘Really Simple Syndication’), when a new version of RSS was released. Once AOL took over and restructured Netscape, the organization stopped contributing to RSS development. Later, Netscape engineers streamlined the technology and gave it a new name: Rich Site Summary. Web publishers used this early version of RSS to curate content from their websites and displayed it on the first RSS portals, such as my. The first version of RSS was created in March 1999, with Netscape releasing the RDF Site Summary solution. Users thereby stay informed about the latest online developments. This process converts simple data (such as site name, title, and description) into a consistent source of new content. This solution extracts data from XML, simplifies and streamlines it, and then uploads it on an RSS reader for conversion into digital updates. Understanding how RSS works allows content creators from across genres to navigate digital publishing more confidently. This web feed solution enables users to access content updates from multiple sources automatically and in a centralized manner. Digital platforms such as blogs and websites use RSS feeds to align their content with audience interests better. Online algorithms leverage it for content curation and delivering results personalized according to audience interests. RSS is usually said to stand for either RDF site summary, rich site summary, or really simple syndication. Every time new content is uploaded on any of the added websites, its summary, author, publication date, link, and other information is displayed in the RSS feed. An RSS feed is an online file that stores and displays data from user-chosen websites in reverse chronological order. You even have the ability to pixelate or blur sensitive sections you’d rather not share, or use a magnifying tool to zoom into a designated area. Every option we tried failed, aside from recording it via a microphone - which led to much lower quality. While reviewing Debut Video Capture, we sadly encountered a major issue on the Mac, unable to find a way to directly record the system audio. However, you’ll have to do that with video editing software, as Debut offers little in the way of editing capabilities, aside from trimming. The screen recorder app captures all selected devices separately, making it much easier to edit afterwards. The interface might feel a little antiquated, but it comes with a wealth of features and customization options. And, in the main, it delivers precisely the experience you’d expect.ĭuring our testing, we felt the screen recording software worked very well, letting users capture audio and video from multiple sources with relative ease. OBS Studio supports both streaming and recording in high definition, with no restrictions on the number or length of your creations. You’d think that would lessen its appeal as an anime, but that’s the way it is. It also builds the plot around the two original characters, Lim and Adia, separating the story from the main plot of the manga and anime.
